ARRESTS
There was one arrest this week. Male party was arrested on 2/11/2023 on an El Paso County failure to appear warrant. He remains in Moffat County jail with no bond set.
CALL SUMMARIES
2/5/2023 @ 2:34 pm. A semi-truck rolled near the intersection of County Road 102/Highway 64. The driver suffered minor injuries.
2/7/2023 @ 12:41 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD on a traffic stop. A K-9 was deployed for a vehicle search. Upon the conclusion of the search, no illegal substances were located.
2/7/2023 @ 2:28 pm. A reporting party called the Sheriff’s Office to advise that her credit card was charged for more than what she purchased at a local business. The reporting party was instructed to call the business and resolve the discrepancy with the manager.
2/8/2023 @ 6:38 am. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted the White River Snowmobile Club and White River Electric Association with a recovery of a snow cat that had been submerged in a stock pond up river. Unfortunately, their efforts were unsuccessful. We are hoping for a speedy recovery and an early spring!
2/8/2023 @ 1:07 pm. A pesky elk did not want to leave a corral at a residence on the west side of Rio Blanco County. With the assistance of Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Sheriff’s Office, the elk was encouraged to relocate.
2/9/2023 @ 6:00 pm. An accident involving a car vs. elk was reported at about the 67 mile-marker on Highway 64. The airbags did deploy and the vehicle was not drivable. The driver was not injured.
2/11/2023 @ 8:54 am. The Sheriff’s Office assisted Colorado State Patrol on a traffic stop with a male party that had a warrant. The subject was taken into custody without incident and transported to Moffat County Jail by Colorado State Patrol.
