ARRESTS
There was one arrest this week. Male party was arrested 1/31/2023 on an out of state Failing to Register as a Sex Offender warrant. He bonded 2/2/2023 on a $10,000 cash/surety bond
CALL SUMMARIES
1/29/2023 @ 8:06 am. A suspicious vehicle was reported and subsequently contacted by a sheriff deputy on the west side of Rio Blanco County. The person associated with the vehicle had a tent set up on a collection station in the area. The party was contacted and was advised to take their camp and leave.
1/30/2023 @ 6:01 am. A head on crash on Highway 13 causing injuries. The highway was closed for a short time for emergency personnel.
1/30/223 @ 8:14 am. Meeker High School was vandalized. The juvenile suspects were identified and issued a summons.
1/31/2023 @ 1:59 pm. A semi pulling a trailer went off the road and into the ditch on Highway 139. The south bound lanes of Highway 139 at the 39 mile-marker was closed while the semi-truck was pulled out of the ditch.
2/1/2023 @ 3:50 pm. A small child called “991” and wanted to chat with the 911 dispatcher about the weather. The dispatcher obliged and they discussed the weather report. In the meantime, an officer went to the residence to make sure everything was okay.
2/2/2023 @ 1:55 pm. A caller called to report a potentially injured dog and a “freezing” sheepherder on County Road 102. A deputy was able to locate the dog and sheepherder, they were both okay.
2/2/2023 @ 10:16 pm. There was a one vehicle rollover accident on County Road 13. No injuries were reported
2/4/2023 @ 11:30 am. An unoccupied truck slid into an active burn pit and became fully engulfed. The Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded and was able to get the fire out. There were no injuries.
