ARRESTS
1/7/2026- A 32 year-old female was arrested by Meeker PD for attempted vehicular eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and speeding. She also had a warrant out of Grand Junction PD. She was taken to jail and remains in custody.
CALL SUMMARIES
01/05/2026 @ 1:06 pm. Deputies responded to a semi rollover causing an oil spill on Highway 139. The driver was injured and taken to the hospital. Environmental cleanup crews were able to collect approximately 180 barrels of crude oil and water mixture from the accident site.
1/5/2026 @ 6:53 pm. Black ice was the cause of a one vehicle accident near the 22 mile-marker on Highway 13. One occupant was taken to the hospital.
1/7/2026 @ 2:36 am. While Meeker PD was investigating a harassment complaint, the suspect fled in the U-Haul she was driving. Once the officer located the U-Haul, a pursuit entailed but eventually ended near the 50 mile-marker on Highway 13. The suspect remained uncooperative and was taken into custody.
1/7/2026 @ 6:50 am. A caller came upon a rolled over vehicle on County Road 130 with no occupants. The car was cold and covered in frost. Colorado State Patrol is investigating the crash.
1/8/2026 @ 7:32 am. A caller reported a “handful” of cows laying on Highway 139 apparently ignoring traffic laws. A deputy intervened by wrangling the cows back behind a fence.
