Rio Happenings: July 9-15, 2023

ARRESTS

A 39 year old male was arrested July 14, 2023 on a Rio Blanco County warrant.  

A female party was arrested on July 16, 2023 on 5 warrants for Failure to Appear. 

A 62 year old male was arrested on July 10, 2023 on Mesa County warrants. He was transferred from Moffat County to Mesa County jail on July 12, 2023.

CALL SUMMARIES

7/9/2023 @ 2:10 pm. A one vehicle rollover occured at the 70 mile-marker on Highway 64. The single occupant was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

7/10/2023 @ 7:31 pm. A male party stopped at  the Sheriff’s Office looking for a place to sleep for the night. The male did in fact find a place to sleep as he had a warrant for his arrest and was transported to Moffat County Jail.

7/10/2023 @ 9:00 pm. A resident in the Town of Meeker was upset when she found out somebody had moved the bowl she used for her cat. Law enforcement responded and settled the situation.

7/11/2023 @ 5:17 pm. A wildland fire was reported on County Road 5 at the Yellow Creek turnoff. BLM Fire launched an air attack. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. also responded. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. cleared the fire at 8:37 pm.  

7/14/2023 @ 7:54 pm. A semi truck hauling hay rolled at the 54 mile-marker on Highway 64. No injuries were reported however the highway was closed for a period of time to clean up the accident. 

7/15/2023 @ 8:31 am. A fire was reported at mile-marker 46 on Highway 13. Passerbys with shovels were seen trying to put the fire out. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded, released the good samaritans and cleared the scene at 8:54 am.
