RIO HAPPENINGS: JUNE 1-7, 2025

ARRESTS

6/1/2025-Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 27 year-old male on several warrants. He was taken to jail and remains in custody.

6/1/2025- A 71 year-old female was arrested on a warrant for Failure to Appear. She was booked and posted bond at the Sheriff’s Office.

CALL SUMMARIES

6/1/2025 @ 6:18 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office responded with Rangely Fire Dept. to a fire caused by a lightning strike on County Road 138. At 12:04 a.m. all apparatus cleared the scene.

6/1/2025 @ 7:04 pm. Three juveniles were inside an abandoned apartment building acting mischievously. Meeker PD contacted the juveniles and advised them to leave the property.

6/1/2025 @ 7:35 pm. A male party wanted for multiple warrants was located hiding in an irrigation pipe on the property he had been staying at on Highway 64. He was taken into custody without incident by the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office.

6/4/2025 @ 6:12 am. A one vehicle rollover occurred at about the 43 mile-marker on Highway 13. The two occupants were uninjured.

6/4/2025 @ 11:54 am. A caller stated that over the past 3-4 days, their dogs had been hesitant to go near the river during their walks, which they found suspicious. An officer checked the area but did not observe anything unusual or out of the ordinary.

6/4/2025 @ 2:55 pm. A caller reported an active fire they could see on their camera. BLM Fire responded along with Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. The fire was named the Hay Fire. Meeker Fire cleared the fire at 9:12 pm. BLM Fire remained on scene. The fire was estimated to be approximately 15 acres, located on BLM property.

6/6/2025 @ 6:48 am. A traffic complaint was reported at the 24 mile-marker on Highway 13. The caller stated the vehicle was swerving. A deputy was able to stop the vehicle and the driver was issued a summons for weaving.

6/6/2025 @ 9:25 am. A female individual was issued a warning and subsequently trespassed from the laundromat. This action was taken after it was discovered that she had left fecal matter inside one of the washing machines.

6/6/2025 @ 2:20 pm. A motorcycle crash occurred at the 46 mile-marker on Highway 139. There were two riders and both were uninjured.
