ARRESTS
6/23/2026- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office took a 42 year-old female in custody during a court appearance on a warrant for Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia-Possess. She was transported to jail and bonded out.
6/25/2026- Rangely PD arrested a 47 year-old male for a warrant. He was transported to jail and released on bond.
6/25/2026- Rangely PD arrested a 42 year old male on a Protection Order Violation. He was taken to jail and released on a PR bond.
6/26/2026- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 54 year-old female on a warrant. She was transported to jail and bonded out.
6/26/2026- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 49 year-old male on Child Abuse-Knowingly/Recklessly Causes Injury. He was issued a summons and released.
CALL SUMMARIES
6/22/2026 @ 3:00 pm. Someone driving an SUV on Highway 13 was reportedly testing everyone else’s defensive driving skills after nearly causing a head-on collision. A deputy located the vehicle in the Meeker town limits and initiated a traffic stop. Since the alleged driving occurred in Garfield County, the case was handed off to CSP.
6/23/2026 @ 1:40 pm. An overturned vehicle was discovered by a semi truck driver at the 53 mile-marker on Highway 64. Upon deputies’ arrival and search of the area, it was determined there was no occupant on scene. CSP is investigating the accident.
6/24/2026 @ 10:37 am. A four-legged hitchhiker accidentally got left in the truck without a child realizing it. Animal Control gave the pup a temporary place to hang out until the owner, who was busy searching for their missing companion, was happily reunited with their dog.
6/25/2026 @ 12:20 pm. A semi with a box trailer discovered the hard way that Brightwater Lane isn’t built for a big rig. The oversized detour claimed a fence, a few trash cans and mailboxes before the truck was located at the intersection of Highway 64 and 13 by a deputy. The truck was sporting some front -end damage of its own. The investigation was turned over to CSP.
6/26/2026 @ 9:33 pm. Meeker PD assisted Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office on a report of a child abuse incident. Upon investigation it was determined the step-father had caused injury to a child while providing discipline. He was taken into custody, issued a summons and released.
