RIO HAPPENINGS: JUNE 28-JULY 4, 2026

ARRESTS 

7/3/2026- Meeker PD arrested a 21-year-old male for DUI. He was issued a summons and released to a sober party.

7/4/2026- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office took a 25 year-old male in custody after a “Flock Hit”- (License Plate Reader) from Rangely PD of a semi-truck associated with multiple active warrants. Subject was arrested and transported to Moffat County Jail.

6/26/2026- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 54 year-old female on a warrant. She was transported to jail and bonded out. 

6/26/2026- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 49 year-old male on Child Abuse-Knowingly/Recklessly Causes Injury. He was issued a summons and released. 

CALL SUMMARIES

6/30/2026 @ 4:00 pm. Caller reported a brush fire thought to be started by a flare near the Enterprise Plant on CR 69. Investigation of cause is still underway.  

6/30/2026 @ 9:24 pm. Dispatch received a call from a neighbor hearing screaming and a woman saying “don’t hurt me.” Upon arriving on scene law enforcement discovered everything was 10-4. As it was found out it was only a female party who had got hot sauce in her eye. 

7/2/2026 @ 3:46 pm. A report was made of a fraudulent incident involving an elderly customer. She reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be from a local bank, which resulted in her providing sensitive information to purchase $1,000 worth of gift cards. 

7/2/2026 @ 4:11 am. It seems everyone is being extra vigilant regarding reports of smoke. One citizen even called ahead to confirm he had received approval to roast a pig for this year’s Fourth of July festivities. 

7/4/2026 @ 10:55 am. A frantic call came into dispatch of a stolen truck. Reporter stated that it allegedly contained two pistols and at least 50k worth of tools in the truck. However, 10 minutes after the initial report, the owner called back to clarify that a friend actually had the truck and it had not been stolen after all.
