ARRESTS
7/1/2025- Rangely PD arrested a 25-year-old female on a warrant out of Rio Blanco County for Failure to Comply. She was taken to jail and is no longer in custody.
7/3/2025- Meeker PD arrested an 82-year-old male for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Drugs or both, Child Abuse-Negligence and Failed to Stop at a Through Highway. He was issued a summons and released to a sober party.
7/3/2025-Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested an 18-year-old male for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Drugs or Both and Failed to Yield the Right-of-Way When Proceeding from a Stop Sign. He was issued a summons and released to a sober party.
7/5/2025-Meeker PD arrested a 28-year-old male for Driving Under the Influence and Child Abuse. He was issued a summons and released to a sober party.
CALL SUMMARIES
6/29/2025 @ 2:48 am. Meeker PD responded to a domestic violence call. The parties separated for the night.
6/29/2025 @ 5:32 pm. A deputy with Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Dinosaur area on Highway 40 for a report of a vehicle fire that had extended into a wildland fire. The deputy was able to make contact with several residents in the area regarding a potential evacuation. No injuries were reported.
6/30/2025 @ 6:51 am. Dogs barking and a shot fired prompted a resident on County Road 8 to call the Communications Center. Shortly after her phone call, she did contact a male party in the area that did in fact admit to killing a bear and proceeded to leave the area. Colorado Parks and Wildlife is investigating the incident.
7/2/2025 @ 9:22 pm. An Apple crash detection notified the Communications Center there had been a crash at the 27 mile-marker on Highway 13. Upon law enforcement’s arrival, there was a one vehicle rollover. One occupant had minor injuries however, refused medical assistance.
7/3/2025 @ 5:00 pm. In a daring move, a vehicle proceeded to pull out in front of a deputy which caused the deputy to brake to avoid a collision. This led to a traffic stop, during which the driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failing to yield the right-of-way from a stop sign. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana before driving.
7/4/2025 @ 7:07 pm. A male individual was taken into custody by a Colorado Parks and Wildlife Officer at Kenney Reservoir under suspicion of Boating Under the Influence. A deputy assisted with the alcohol testing. After testing it was determined the boater was not under the influence. However Colorado Parks and Wildlife issued a summons for boating-related charges, and the individual was subsequently released.
