ARRESTS
3/25/2025- Rangely PD arrested a 23-year-old male for Child Abuse Knowingly/Recklessly Causing Serious Bodily Injury. He was released on a PR bond the same day.
3/27/2025- Rangely PD arrested a 24-year-old male on a warrant for assault. He was released on bond the same day.
3/28/2025- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 38-year-old male for Contempt of Court. He remains in custody.
CALL SUMMARIES
3/24/2025 @ 1:11 pm. A hit and run accident occurred to a vehicle that was innocently parked on Market St. The witness called Communications to report the accident. Colorado State Patrol was able to locate the “run” vehicle.
3/24/2025 @ 1:32 pm. A wild land fire was reported on County Road 102. The fire was reported to be about 1/4 acre in size. Rangely Volunteer Fire Dept. responded.
3/25/2025 @ 5:23 pm. A deputy was dispatched to a verbal disturbance between two roommates in the county off Highway 64. It was discovered there was already a protection order in place from abusing or harassing the initial reporter from the suspect. The order had previously been modified to allow the suspect to remain on the property. To resolve the problem, the victim decided to see about amending the protection order again to have the suspect permanently banned from the property.
3/29/2025- A horse must lay down to catch some zzz’s. One passerby was concerned the horse may be deceased but upon the deputy’s arrival the horse was just taking a nap.
3/29/2025 @12:37- A passerby near Lake Avery reported that four suspicious fishermen were loading something big, possibly an elk, in the back of their truck. When she drove by, they appeared to be trying to hide whatever it was. CPW was contacted but they were not able to locate the suspected elk poachers.
