ARRESTS
There were 2 arrests this week. A 27-year-old male was arrested on 3/15/2023 for a warrant. No follow up information was provided. A 47-year-old male was arrested for domestic violence by Rangely PD on 3/14/2023. A PR bond was granted by Judge Neely on 3/15/2023.
CALL SUMMARIES
3/12/2023 @ 9:19 pm. Meeker Police Dept. was made aware of an anonymous and suspicious social media post that prompted a large law enforcement presence at all Meeker Schools on Monday morning. The juvenile that made the post was identified. No illegal activities or injuries were reported.
3/14/2023 @ 10:50 am. A male party continued to call 911 on 3 occasions even though he insisted he was trying to call 811. A deputy responded to the address where the cell phone was pinging on the eastern side of Rio Blanco County and the male party was okay.
3/14/2023 @ 10:04 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD with a domestic violence incident in the town limits of Rangely. A male party was taken into custody as a result.
3/15/203 @ 11:16 am. Deputies assisted with an eviction in the town limits of Meeker and upon contacting the movers that were going to be moving items out of the house, one of the male subjects had two warrants. He was taken into custody and transported to Moffat County Jail.
3/16/2023 @ 6:33 pm. A traffic complaint was called into the Rio Blanco County Communications Center regarding a semi pulling a flatbed trailer that was swerving on Highway 64. A deputy was able to locate the semi and stop the vehicle.
3/18/2023 @ 12:00 pm. A large round bale of hay caused a hazard on Highway 64 near the 66 mile-marker. Luckily a nearby resident was able to use farm equipment to move the hazard with some assistance from a deputy for traffic control. There was no indication of intoxication and the driver was released on a warning.
