RIO HAPPENINGS: March 22-30, 2026

ARRESTS

3/29/2026- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 37 year-old male on Violation of a Protection Order. He was taken to jail and released on a PR bond.

3/30/2026- Rangely PD arrested a 20 year-old male for Violation of a Protection Order. He was taken to jail and released on a PR bond.

CALL SUMMARIES

3/22/2026 @ 2:48 am. A caller reported what appeared to be rocks in the road or maybe a cylinder looking item the size of a milk jug. The item was in fact… a milk jug. A deputy was able to removed the milk jug without incident.

3/26/2026 @ 8:19 pm. A controlled burn on County Road 57 became out of control and caught an old camper on fire. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded and contained the fire at 8:45 pm.

3/27/2026 @ 11:48 am. A female party called the Communications Center to report that her dog was “dognapped” by her ex-boyfriend. Upon contact, it turned out the caller had an outstanding warrant out of Garfield County, so she was taken into custody and was released to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office. As for the dog, it has elected to remain with the ex-boyfriend pending further investigation…or at least until someone produces paperwork and/or better treats.

3/27/2026 @ 12:22 pm. A deputy was able to locate a semi that had been called in as a traffic complaint on Highway 64 for weaving. The driver was issued a warning for weaving.
