CALL SUMMARIES
3/30/2026- A concerned neighbor reported an unattended fire in a fire pit. An officer with Meeker PD responded to the call, inspected the site, and extinguished the fire using a garden hose.
3/31/2026-A reported stolen firearm case was swiftly brought to a close when the missing item was located right where it had been all along — in the husband’s own vehicle. The discovery was made by his wife, solving the mystery in record time. Also known as “man looking.”
3/31/2026 @ 3:42 pm. A deputy stopped to check on a male party lingering near the railroad tracks near the 5 mile-marker on Highway 64. Turns out, the gentleman was a tourist all the way from Belgium, patiently waiting to watch a train roll by — apparently a must-see attraction on his itinerary.
3/31/2026 @ 7:04 pm. A young caller utilized the Text-to-911 system to report… a TikTok link. The dispatcher reviewed the submission and confirmed there was no emergency, No action was taken, though the video did not receive an official “like.”
4/1/2026 @ 5:50 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD with a vehicle that was failing to stop for an officer. The driver later advised she did, in fact, see the patrol lights, but took a few extra miles to carefully consider her options and select what she felt was the perfect pull-over location. Deputies confirmed this was not an April Fool’s prank, just a very thorough decision-making process. Rangley PD did issue the driver a citation.
4/1/2026 @ 9:04 pm. An overdue party was involved in an injury crash near the 64 mile-marker on Highway 139. Following an intense rescue operation in muddy conditions, the patient was successfully extricated and transported to the hospital for treatment.
4/3/2026 @ 9:17 am. A one vehicle rollover occured at the 31 mile-marker on Highway 13 due to icy road conditions. Two occupants were transported to the hospital.
