ARRESTS
A 48 year-old male was arrested on 3/6/2024 on a violation of a protection order. He was issued a PR bond on 3/7/2024.
A 34 year-old male was transported to jail from the Laramie County Jail in Cheyenne, WY on 3/11/2024 on 2 felony Rio Blanco County warrants.
A 28 year-old male was arrested on 3/11/2024 on 2 Rio Blanco County warrants and taken to jail.
CALL SUMMARIES
3/3/2024 @ 2:48 pm. A deputy was flagged down at the 61 mile marker on Highway 64 for a Golden Eagle that was found deceased.
3/3/2024 @ 4:24 pm. A slide off was reported at the 41 mile-marker on Highway 139. There were no injuries. While the deputy was helping with this slide off, another one occured at the same location. There were also no injuries in the 2nd slide off.
3/7/2024 @ 11:26 am. Someone that had hunted in our area from Texas called to report fraud as he went on a hunt with an outfitter but did not get the trophy buck he wanted. Also the refund checks that were issued from the outfitter were not clearing the bank. A deputy explained that this is a civil issue and there is never a guarantee of getting an animal.
3/9/2024 @ 8:34 pm. A disturbance within the town limits of Meeker included the accusation of the suspect urinating and spitting on the reporting party’s vehicle. A report was taken.
3/9/2024 @ 4:08 am. There was a single vehicle crash at the 45 mile- marker on Highway 13 within the town limits of Meeker. Two occupants were transportated to the hospital. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor.
A female party called 911 several times this week claiming she just wants to be left alone. Each time an officer did respond to make sure things were okay. Her last 911 call of the week was a “thumbs up” for Meeker PD. She was educated on the correct use of 911.
