ARRESTS
A 40 year-old female turned herself in on 4/2/2024 on a 90 day mittimus.
A 51 year-old female was arrested on 4/4/2024 by Rangely PD on 2 Rio Blanco warrants. A PR bond was granted on 4/5/2024.
CALL SUMMARIES
Approximately 5:30pm April 1st, the Rio Blanco County Communications Center was notified that 80 year old David Thomas had been reported missing from Rock Springs, Wyoming. Mr. Thomas carried an Apple Air Tag that pinged an address in Rangely on April 1st, around 4:00 p.m. Where the air tag was visible, the area was searched, but David Thomas or vehicle were not found. Throughout the evening,
deputies from the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office kept searching for the vehicle belonging to the missing party. Approximately 12:00am on April 2 at mile marker 54 on Highway 64, Deputy Selby came upon a truck that fit the description of the truck that belonged to the missing party David Thomas. Upon Deputy Selby’s arrival he found David Thomas lying on the ground outside of his truck. Given the cold temperature and his exposure to the outdoors, Deputy Selby called for an ambulance and Mr. Thomas was transported to Pioneers Hospital. Mr. Thomas is well enough to go back home and has been reunited with his family thanks to Deputy Selby’s vigilance.
3/31/2024 @ 9:06 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD with a report of a disturbance in the town limits of Rangley. It was reported that two men holding a bat were threatening another person. Once law enforcement was on scene the victim and suspects were nowhere to be found.
4/1/2024 @ 4:26 pm. A male party was issued a citation for careless driving and attempting to elude a peace officer. The short chase ended at County Road 4 & County Road 13.
4/3/2024 @ 10:41 am. Two adult sisters got into a physical altercation at a residence in the town limits of Meeker. One party was injured and taken to the hospital by private vehicle. The aggressor was issued a summons for assault.
4/4/2024 @ 4:17 pm. A lost party was brought into the Sheriff’s Office when she was found roaming around town trying to find her brother’s house. Meeker PD assisted the female and got her back to where she needed to be.
4/5/2024 @ 10:06 pm. A resident in the town limits of Meeker reported that 3 juveniles broke his door and then ran off. Meeker PD and Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office responded and found several juveniles in the area, however, none of them could be associated with the crime.
