ARRESTS
3/9/2026- Rangely PD arrested a 55 year-old female on a warrant for Dangerous Drugs. She was taken to jail and was released on a PR bond.
3/11/2026- Meeker PD arrested a 35 year-old female for Child Abuse. She was taken to jail and released on a cash bond.
3/15/2026-Meeker PD arrested a 18 year-old female for 2nd Degree Burglary, 1st Degree Criminal Trespass and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was taken to jail and released on a PR bond.
CALL SUMMARIES
3/9/2026 @ 8:12 pm. A driver had an unfortunate run-in with an elk on Highway 139. While the elk clearly had a worse day, a Rangely resident was issued a roadkill permit to harvest the animal, turning an accident into what some might call an unexpectedly productive grocery run.
3/10/2026 @ 7:16 am. A traffic complaint was received regarding a possible DUI on Highway 13. A deputy located the vehicle and determined the driver’s lane control left something to be desired. The driver was issued a summons for weaving and no insurance.
3/10/2026 @ 10:12. An 18 year old female was trespassed from a residence on Water St. when she walked into the residence without being invited.
3/10/2026 @ 7:58 pm. A report of a 9 year-old child sleeping in a trash can lid was reported to Meeker PD. Officers contacted Dept. of Human Services to go with them to do a home check which checked out to be less than favorable. The mother was arrested on child abuse charges.
3/12/2026 @ 3:30 pm. Meeker’s Code Enforcement officer responded to a report of several chickens crossing the road, apparently conducting important poultry business. The flock was located and their owner was issued a door hanger for poultry at large. One rooster in the group was also cited for disturbing the peace and quiet. The age-old question of why the chicken crossed the road remains under investigation.
3/14/2026 @ 8:19 pm. A deputy on routine patrol on County Road 15 came across a teenager covered in blood. After some investigation it was determined the teen had a spontaneous nose bleed after a verbal altercation. No charges were filed.
