CALL SUMMARIES

5/28/2023 @ 3:36 PM. A motorcycle accident occurred at approximately the 11 mile-marker on County Road 7. The motorcycle rider was transported to a hospital by a medical helicopter.

5/29/2023 @ 9:12 pm. A car vs elk accident was reported at the 31 mile-marker on Highway 64. The driver was not injured, the elk was not as lucky.

5/30/2023 @ 4:31 pm. A shed fire broke out near a residence on the eastern side of Rio Blanco County. The Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. was dispatched and the fire was put out.  No injuries were reported.

5/30/2023 @ 8:23 pm.  A disturbance was reported in the area of 11th/Cleveland in the alley.  Upon the officers’ investigation it appeared the disturbance was verbal only and no physical altercation occurred.

5/31/2023 @ 7:43 pm. Two dirt bikes were seen riding across private property on County Road 2. A deputy contacted the dirt bike riders near the residence. The landowner did not want to press charges.

6/1/2023 @ 12:13 pm.  A call came into the Rio Blanco County Communications Center regarding an airplane that was flying and didn’t look like it “was going to make it” A deputy responded to check the area and there was no evidence of a plane crash. The FAA was also contacted and they also had not had any reports of any aircraft trouble.

6/1/2023@ 6:57 pm. A traffic complaint came into the Communications Center regarding a vehicle that was swerving and had almost hit another vehicle twice. The driver was contacted by deputies and ultimately given a citation for having a revoked driver’s license.

6/2/2023 @ 2:21 pm. A deputy on routine patrol moved several rocks out of the road near the 23 mile-marker on County Road 8.

6/2/2023 @ 4:27 A semi-trailer crashed and went over the edge at about the 50 mile-marker on Highway 13. The driver suffered injuries and was transported to the hospital. The truck was hauling packages from Amazon, we suspect there will be a delay in the delivery of some packages.
