5/7/2026 @ 10:30 AM- Dispatch was contacted for a report of a one vehicle accident on Highway 64 and County Rd. 7. None of the passengers received any injuries.
5/7/2026 @ 2:43 PM – An oilfield on Rio Blanco County called today requesting extra patrol, as they’ve had several small thefts such as batteries and small solar panels from locations.
5/8/2026 @ 7:42 PM – A juvenile’s Friday evening ended abruptly when they were transported to PMC after consuming three “gummies.” This left them with a fuzzy mind and experiencing significant impairment. Later that evening they were released into their parents’ custody.
5/9/2026 @ 11:08 AM – You may have noticed the vultures hanging in the trees by the courthouse, but you might be surprised to see them hanging upside down. After a report was made to dispatch, an investigation revealed that the Natural Resource Officer intentionally placed three vultures in that position. This was done as a measure to deter other vultures from roosting in the area. Seems to be working!
5/9/2026 @ 7:16 PM – Smoke near Rangely was reported. A large plume of black smoke could be seen over Mellin hill. BLM was notified, after investigating the smoke seemed to dissipate. No fire was found in the area.
