Rio Happenings: May 7-13, 2023

ARRESTS

A 27 year old male was arrested on 5/10/2023 on an out of County warrant. A 39 year old male was arrested on 5/12/2023 for huffing. A PR bond was granted 5/14/23. A 26 year old male was arrested for an assault on 5/13/2023 and a PR bond was granted on 5/14/2023. A 36 year old male was arrested on 5/14/2023 on an out of county warrant. 

CALL SUMMARIES

5/07/2023 @ 3:11 pm.  Deputies assisted Rangely PD with a report of a male who was outside a residence with a gun.  After further investigation, there was no weapon found.

5/09/2023 @ 8:06 am. A concerned family member called the Rio Blanco County Communications Center to see if there might be a motorhome that was parked at a local park. The owner of the motorhome hadn’t been heard from for 2 days since traveling from AZ. After futher investigation, the motorhome was found at the park and the owner was out walking his dogs. His cell phone didn’t have service to contact his family.

5/10/2023 @ 6:07 am. A passerby reported two bulls outside of the fence fighting while heading toward the highway at about the 70 mile-marker on Highway 64.  The  owner of the bulls was contacted. 

5/11/2023 @05:09 pm.  The Sheriff’s Office assisted Meeker PD with a call of two juveniles who were seen leaving a residence in the town limits of Meeker and possibly carrying a weapon. The juveniles were contacted and even though denying there was a weapon, later admitted to have dropped a handgun in the bushes.  They were taken into custody and later released to their parents. 

5/12/2023 @ 11:30 pm. A traffic complaint in the area of the 29 mile-marker Highway 13 was reported regarding a flatbed hauling pipe fittings that was swerving and almost went off the road.  He was later located on Highway 64 and followed by a deputy, no violations were observed.
