CALL SUMMARIES

11/13/2025  8:05 am. A caller reported a deer in distress after getting stuck in a fence on Highway 139. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a buck “assisting” the doe in his own enthusiastic way, ultimately helping her free herself. Both animals left the area without further incident.

11/13/2025 @ 12:42 pm. A hunter in the Marvine area returned to his vehicle only to find his handgun and cash stolen. Deputies retrieved evidence from the vehicle. There is no suspect information at this time.

11/14/2025 @ 2:16 PM. A caller’s white Toyota was damaged in a hit-and-run, which left evidence of the black Toyota parked next to her. The owner of the black Toyota involved was located and a report was taken by Meeker PD.

11/15/2025 @ 8:02 am. A male party asked for a courtesy ride from Rangely to Grand Junction to deliver some artwork. There was not a deputy available to assist with this request so he decided to walk. Later in the day a BLM officer came across the artist and gave him a courtesy ride further down the highway closer to his destination.

11/15/2025 @ 7:33 pm.  A deputy contacted two adults dressed all in black walking down the middle of the road in the town limits of Rangely. The deputy advised them while the fashion choice was impressive, the roadway was not the ideal runway. They moved to the sidewalk and continued their walk.
