RIO HAPPENINGS: NOVEMBER 12-18, 2023

ARRESTS

A 39 year old male was arrested on 11-14 on a Rio Blanco  County Warrant. He is still in custody in Moffat County Jail.

CALL SUMMARIES

11/12/2023 @ 7:15 pm.  A truck with out of state plates was reported to be trespassing in the area of County Road 129 & County Road 66. A Colorado Parks & Wildlife officer was able to make contact with the vehicle and the situation was handled.

11/12/2023 @ 7:33 pm. A patron staying at a local hotel called into the Communications Center to report someone that was removing a stump in the area and the noise it was causing. An officer checked the area and was unable to locate a stump removal in progress.

11/13/2023 @ 7:21 am. A truck that was “stuck” in a hole and had been abandoned on County Road 24X was blocking other vehicles from driving through. A Colorado Parks & Wildlife Officer made contact with the vehicle owner and advised the owner that it was not okay to leave their truck blocking the road in order for him to keep hunting.

11/14/2023 @ 7:29 am. A one vehicle rollover occurred at approximately the 32 mile-marker on Highway 13. The two occupants were transported to the hospital.

11/14/2023 @ 1:29 pm. A deputy responded to assist a BLM officer with a male party that had warrants in the area of Highway 64 and County Road 98. The male was uncooperative but ultimately ended up in Moffat County Jail. 

11/14/2023 @ 8:49 pm.  A male party was summonsed and released to a sober party for driving under the influence along with several other traffic infractions. The deputy stopped the vehicle at County Road 13 & County Road 4.

11/15/2023 @ 5:03 pm.  Hunters were reported to be hunting on private property on County Road 11. A Colorado Parks and Wildlife officer took over the investigation.

11/17/2023 @ 7:56 am. The Communications Center was notified of smoke in the area of the 41 mile-marker on Highway 13. Upon an officer’s investigation the smoke appeared to be residual fog.

11/17/2023 @ 7:53 pm. A car vs bear accident occurred at the 51 mile-marker on Highway 13. There were no injuries however, the vehicle was not drivable.
