ARRESTS
A 37 year-old male was transported from AZ to Moffat County Jail on a Rio Blanco County Felony Warrant.
A 47 year-old male was arrested for a protection order violation and taken to Moffat County Jail. He was arrested on 11/26/2023. He received a PR bond on 11/27/2023
CALL SUMMARIES
11/26/2023 @ 4:13 pm. A deputy arrested a male party for violating a protection order in the area of Highway 64 & County Road 46.
11/28/2023 @ 8:13 am. A car vs deer accident occured at the 48 mile-marker on Highway 13. No injuries were reported.
11/30/2023 @ 2:35 am. An abandoned vehicle crash was found at the 5 mile-marker on Highway 64. The passerby reported seeing skid marks that left the highway. A deputy responded to investigate. The crashed vehicle was abandoned with no driver seen in the area.
12/1/2023 @ 10:47 am. Someone reported that a hitch was stolen off the back of a van and provided suspect information. As an officer was talking to the potential suspect a male party drove by yelling obcenities. The harasser was taken into custody and released on a summons.
12/2/2023 @ 8:03 am. A stolen vehicle was reported from a business in the town limits of Meeker. There is no suspect information at this time.
12/2/2023 @ 10:56 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD with a motor vehicle theft that occured in the town limits of Rangely. The suspect wrecked the first stolen vehicle and fled the scene on foot. While responding to this call, Rangely PD observed the same suspect stealing another vehicle. The suspect again crashed the vehicle in Grand Junction and was apprehended by Grand Junction PD after a foot pursuit.
12/2/2023 @ 1:07 am. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office also assisted Rangely PD on a person that was seen trying car door handles. When the suspect was spotted, he ran to an awaiting vehicle and that vehicle eluded Rangely PD. The female driver bailed out of the vehicle and was cooperative with law enforcement and taken into custody. The male suspect took off in the vehicle eluding police again. Officers lost sight of the vehicle and the male driver.
