RIO HAPPENINGS: Oct 13-19, 2024

ARRESTS

10/15/2024- A 24 year old female was arrested by Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant. She was transported to jail. She was released on 10/16/2024 on a surety bond.

10/16/2024- A 28 year old male was transported from Colorado Springs Detention Center to jail on a warrant.

10/21/024- A 49 year old male was transported from Cheyenne Detentions to Jail on a warrant.

CALL SUMMARIES

10/15/2024 @ 7:27 pm. Rio Blanco County deputies arrested a female party on a warrant for several charges of sexual exploitation. When deputies contacted her she was driving and was found to be Driving under the Influence of Drugs. She was taken into custody without incident.

10/13/2024 @ 10:17 am. A car vs pedestrian accident occurred at the intersection of 11th/Main St. in Meeker. The driver of the vehicle left the scene and the pedestrian had minor injuries, however refused medical. The vehicle was later located at an address in Meeker. The driver was contacted and issued a summons for Careless Driving, Failing to Remain at Scene Causing an Injury, Failing to Notify Police, Failed to Yield Right of Way at a Stop Sign.

10/13/2024 @ 4:40 pm. A male party driving an ATV was reportedly driving across a lawn at a residence in the Town of Meeker. The driver was located and taken into custody on a warrant.

10/14/2024 @ 11:13 am. A text into the Communications Center from an Apple Watch initiated a potential search as the location was in the Lost Solar area. Due to the remote location, Classic Air Medical was launched to search for anyone with a potential medical issue. The helicopter crew landed near a person in orange that wasn’t moving in the general vicinity of the where the coordinates were. The male party was OK and it was an accidental dial.

10/15/2024 @ 5:11 pm. A found dollar bill on the ground in the 400 block of 6th St. was brought into the Sheriff’s Office as it had a white substance inside the folded bill. Initial testing of the substance tested positive for cocaine. The dollar bill was placed into evidence by Meeker PD.

10/18/2024 @ 7:57 pm. A traffic complaint was reported to deputies that were on routine patrol. One deputy got behind the semi that was reportedly “all over the road” on Highway 64. The deputy observed this same driving behavior. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and cited the driver for weaving.

10/19/2024 @ 10:43 am. Rifle PD notified Rio Blanco County Communications of a vehicle pursuit they were involved in, northbound on Highway 13 from Rifle town limits. Rifle PD terminated the pursuit however Meeker PD and deputies were notified and kept an eye out for the vehicle. The vehicle was not located.
