CALL SUMMARIES
10/22/2023 @ 4:43 pm. A juvenile on a dirtbike eluded Colorado State Patrol in the area of Highway 64 & County Road 127. A deputy responded to the area and located the eluder a short time later. The trooper was called back to the area and took over the investigation and also called the juvenile’s parents.
10/23/2023 @ 7:47 am. Meeker High School called the Police Dept. when it was discovered that a student had brought a gun to school. The student and weapon were secured before law enforcement arrived.
10/23/2023 @ 6:41 pm. A 3 acre fire was started in the morning hours due to lightning near Ellison Mountain. Grand Junction Interagency Fire responded and handled the incident.
10/23/2023 @ 8:59 pm. A suspicious vehicle was called into the Communications Center in the area of Yellow Jacket Pass. A deputy responded and spoke to the driver of the suspicious vehicle and it was determined they were getting firewood and leaving the area.
10/24/2023 @ 12:52 pm. This dog deserves a bone! The owner had locked their keys in the car and called the police dept. for assistance. However, their dog inside the vehicle came to the rescue and unlocked the car before the officer could get there.
10/27/2023 @ 6:55 pm. A car vs deer accident on County Road 1 resulted in two people being transported to the hospital with minor injuries
10/28/2023 @ 6:34 pm. A hunter in the area of Forbes Creek was the focus of a backcountry rescue due to being kicked in the knee by a horse. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. along with Colorado Parks and Wildlife located the patient and he was transported to the hospital.
