CALL SUMMARIES
10/3/2022 @7:13 p.m. At the bottom of Douglas Pass, there was a male party reported to be relaxing in a hammock about 50 ft off the highway. It was thought that the male had been there for over a week. The area was checked by a deputy but no evidence was found.
10/3/2022 @ 5:00 a.m. A male party started his stint of calling 911 several times (12 times between 10/3 & 10/7) requesting assistance but would not cooperate with officers when they arrived at his residence.
10/6/2022 @10:12 p.m. The driver of a truck hauling propane fell asleep and hit a guard rail near the 15 mile-marker on Highway 64. The occupants were not injured and there was no clean-up needed.
10/07/2022 @ 4:00 a.m. A car swerved to miss an elk on Highway 64 and ended up about 50 feet off the roadway. There were no injuries.
10/7/2022 @ 7:57 a.m. A traffic complaint was called in to the Communications Center regarding a vehicle that was weaving on Highway 13. A deputy located the vehicle and stopped it. The driver was issued a summons for an uninsured vehicle and driving without a valid driver’s license.
10/07/2022 @ 8:04 p.m. A suspicious incident reported regarding a male showing up at a residence in the Town of Meeker, stating he was hired to clean. The suspect drove off after nobody would answer the door. Citizens are advised to ensure doors are locked and to watch out for any suspicious activity.
10/08/2022 @3:50 a.m. Rio Blanco Sheriff assisted the Rangely Police Department with a report of someone shining their headlights into a residence. The driver of the vehicle turned off their headlights after being asked to do so by the deputy.
10/08/2022 @2:07 p.m. Someone called the police stating they were assaulted in the town limits of Meeker. The suspect was issued a summons for assault and battery. The weapon involved was a cane.
10/08/2022 @11:31 p.m. There was a suspicious person dressed in all black with a backpack on and smoking outside of a local business in Meeker. Officers were dispatched to the area and unable to locate the subject.
10/09/2022 @10:06 a.m. A hit and run was reported at the Smoking River Brewery from the night before. There was no suspect information.
