A synopsis of the 2nd hunting season is as follows:

CALL SUMMARIES
11/2/2022 @ 11:41 am. A passerby called in a vehicle that appeared suspicious because mud was smeared on the license plate. The vehicle was parked at the 18 mile-marker County Road 8. A deputy checked the area and everything was okay.
11/2/2022 @ 4:52 pm. A lost hunter was reported to the Rio Blanco County Communications Center in the area of Forest Service Road 212. Classic Air Medical along with a member of the Search and Rescue team responded to the area to attempt to locate the lost party. Due to an incoming storm, the helicopter had to return to the airport and the mission had to be postponed until morning. At 8:00 am the next morning the Search & Rescue team responded to the area of the lost hunter. At 9:42 a.m., the lost hunter came into the Sheriff’s Office unbeknownst to him that Search and Rescue had been looking for him. The hunter was in good health due to getting a good night’s rest at a local hotel. The search was called off and all crews responded back to the Sheriff’s Office.
11/3/2022 Several car accidents were reported this day due to slick roads. No major injuries were reported.
11/4/2022 @ 6:54 pm. At the 40 mile-marker on Highway 13 a car vs deer accident was called in to the communications center. The deer was injured and a passerby was able to put the deer down and requested a wildlife possession permit for the meat but changed their mind after they decided the meat was no good.
11/4/2022 @ 8:12 pm. A car vs deer accident occurred at County Road 5/County Road 76. The driver was not injured and was issued a wildlife possession permit.
11/5/2022 @ 9:49 am. Someone reported their trailer was stuck at the 29 mile-marker on County Road 17. They were requesting a plow to come so that they could get the trailer out. Road and Bridge advised the party that he was past the winter maintenance part of the road and he should not go the trailer himself and would need to coordinate his own efforts to recover the trailer.
