RIO HAPPENINGS: OCT. 5-10, 2025

ARRESTS

10/5/2025- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 57 year-old male for Driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possessed an open marijuana container in a motor vehicle, and speeding. He was issued a summons and released to a sober party.

10/7/2025- Meeker PD arrested a 38 year-old male on a misdemeanor warrant out of Grand Junction. He was taken to jail.

10/9/2025- Rangely PD arrested a 29 year-old male for Violation of a Protection Order. He was released on a PR bond.

10/9/2025-Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 39 year-old male on felony warrant for Assault, Assault -Strangulation, Assault-Know/Reckless Cause Injury and Child Abuse. He was taken to jail and later bonded. He was released on a Cash/Surety bond.

10/9/2025- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 37 year-old female on a felony warrant for Assault, Assault-Know/Reckless Cause Injure and Child Abuse. She was released on a Cash/Surety Bond.

10/10/2025- Rangely PD arrested a 51 year- old male on an out of county warrant for Failure to Appear. He remains in custody.

10/12/2025- Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 52 year-old female on a warrant for Contempt of Court, Violation of a Protection Order and Harassment. She was released on a PR bond.

CALL SUMMARIES

10/5/2025 @ 1:38 pm. After a routine traffic stop on Highway 13, the male driver was taken into custody by Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office for Driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possessed an open marijuana container in a motor vehicle, and speeding. He was issued a summons and released to a sober party.

10/5/2025 @ 4:51 pm. Caller reported a speeding vehicle. Deputy located it a short time later and confirmed it was, in fact, still speeding. Ticket issued for accuracy.

10/7/2025 @ 8:06 pm. A Meeker PD officer stopped a vehicle for no license plates. The driver got a warning-but the passenger wasn’t so lucky. A quick check revealed an outstanding warrant. The driver left with a reminder to get plates on his vehicle, and the passenger left with a ride…just not in the same car.

10/9/2025 @ 3:47 pm. A concerned caller reported an 8 or 9 year-old cruising the streets. A deputy located the vehicle, the driver was 15 with a learner’s permit and had a valid licensed adult with him. No further action was taken.

10/11/2025 @ 7:58 am. Road and Bridge assisted with moving 2 large rocks off County Road 5. They were reported to dispatch as being the size of a “car tire.”
