RIO HAPPENINGS: Sept. 19 – 25, 2022

ARRESTS

A 42-year-old female was arrested 9-19 on a Rio Blanco County warrant. A PR bond was granted 9-20 by Magistrate Shamis

CALL SUMMARIES

  • 9/21/2022 @ 2:54 p.m. A call came in for a Border Collie who had jumped into the UPS truck just wanting to ride around town to help deliver packages. Instead, the UPS driver delivered him to his rightful owner.
  • 9/22/2022 @ 12:43 p.m. There was a report of a rock slide with baseball size rocks in the east bound lane of County Road 8 near mile-marker 6. Road and Bridge was called to remove the debris.
  • 9/22/2022 @ 6:15 p.m. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s office assisted Colorado Parks and Wildlife at a ranch near Rangely for a possible hunter trespass. The trespassers were located and educated on the area in which they were hunting.
  • 9/23/2022 @ 7:47 a.m. A Harley Davidson was reported missing after being seen in the reporting party’s yard the night before near 5th and Market. No suspect has been apprehended.
  • 9/23/2022 @ 3:26 p.m. Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s office assisted Rangely Police with an ATV rollover in the town limits that resulted in one injury.
  • 9/24/2022 @ 11:53 p.m. There was a report from the Pines at 875 Water Street where someone had been sleeping in a tent. The camper was given a courtesy transport to a relative’s house.
  • 9/24/2022 @ 8:25 a.m. Smoke was reported near the South Fork Cave. Grand Junction Interagency Fire along with Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to the call. The fire was determined to be started by lightning and it was left to burn.
  • 9/25/2022 @ 7:09 p.m. A 65-year-old male hunter was reported as having shortness of breath and irregular pulse. He was brought out by a 2-hour horseback ride to Trapper’s Lake Lodge where Classic Air Medical was waiting to transport him to a hospital.
