ARRESTS
A 39 year-old male was arrested on 9/29/2023 for abusing toxic vapors. A PR bond was granted on 9/30/2023.
A 36 year-old female was arrested by Rangely PD on 10/1/2023 on an out of county warrant. She bonded the same day.
CALL SUMMARIES
9/24/2023 @ 10:22 pm. A chimney fire started at a cabin near County Road 8 & County Road 14. Luckily, one of the occupants on scene was an off duty firefighter and was able to get most of the fire out before Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. arrived. The fire dept. put the rest of the fire out. The fire was controlled at 11:36 pm.
9/25/2023 @ 4:40 pm. A one vehicle rollover accident occured near the 3 mile-marker on County Road 13. All 3 occupants obtained injuries and were transported to the hospital.
9/27/2023 @ 10:39 am. A door frame was found broken by a caretaker of a residence in town limits of Meeker. Nothing appeared to be missing from the residence. Meeker Police Dept. took a report on the incident.
9/29/2023 @ 9:07 am. Someone observed a male party laying in an alleyway after huffing canned air behind a business in the town limits of Meeker. The male party was arrested and taken to Moffat County Jail.
9/29/2023 @ 12:27 pm. A single vehicle crash occured at the 49 mile-marker on Highway 139. The single occupant sustained minor injuries although did not need to be transported by ambulance.
9/30/2023@ 11:57 am. A hay stack caught fire near the 46 mile-marker on Highway 13. The Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded. and got the fire under control. The land-owner was advised the haystack may smolder for a couple days.
9/30/2023 @ 5:50 pm. A lightning strike caused a wildfire about a mile and a half up County Road 76. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded. As of 9:06 pm. the fire was contained.
