CALL SUMMARIES
9/26/2022 @ 5:57 pm. A concerned citizen reported that a neighbor is trapping cats and using carbon monoxide to kill them.
9/27/2022 @ 6:26 pm. A report came in of neglect regarding two horses tied up at Wilson Creek camp. The reporting party stated the camper’s tent and horses had been there for over a week. The campers were located and had been camping periodically for weekends.
9/28/2022 @ 4:24 pm. A bystander witnessed a truck with no driver hit a vehicle across the street from the post office. The owner stated he believed the truck was in park….. apparently it was not.
9/29/2022 @ 2:55 am. On Highway 13 mile-marker 27, an elk was hit with a vehicle which caused it to swing around and strike the car. One of its antlers came through the rear window, hitting the passenger in the side of the head. The passenger was airlifted from the scene.
9/29/2022 @ 12:10 pm. A lightning strike caused a small wildland fire in the Piceance Creek area. BLM Fire Dept. requested the assistance of Meeker Volunteer Fire Department. The fire was contained at 2:29 pm.
10/01/2022 @ 6:48 pm. Older female Border Collie mix with a hitch in her giddy-up was found by the Forest Service and taken to the animal shelter.
10/01/2022 @ 2:00 pm. Rio Blanco County Sheriffs assisted the Rangely Police Department with security at the golf course for a Lauren Boebert campaign stop
10/02/2022 @ 7:02 pm. A mule passed away on a forest service trail. A USFS employee advised the owners to move the mule off the trail.
