ARRESTS
8/8/2025-Meeker PD arrested a male party for Possession of a Weapon While Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor or a Controlled Substance and Violation of a Protection Order. He was taken to jail and has since been released.
CALL SUMMARIES
Due to the Lee Fire and Elk Fire this week, the Communications Center answered an average of 237 non-emergency calls per day.
8/5/2025 @ 4:32 pm. A driver of a white Jeep Cherokee politely waved at the roadblock on Highway 13…then drove right through it like it was a suggestion. A deputy was in the area and stopped the vehicle. The driver was turned back around.
8/6/2025 @ 3:00 pm. Semi driver decided to take a BLM road shortcut. Plot twist: it wasn’t short and the truck is still in the BLM wilderness. The driver was removed from the area with assistance from a BLM Officer.
8/6/2025 @ 4:19 pm. A one vehicle rollover occurred at the 23 mile-marker on County Road 23. Rangely PD responded along with Rangely Fire and EMS. The patient was transported by private vehicle to the hospital. Colorado State Patrol is handling the investigation.
8/8/2025 @ 12:14 am. A small fire was sparked by a roman candle at the 48 mile-marker on Highway 139. A Rangely PD officer and Rangely Fire Dept. were able to get the fire out. The incident is being investigated.
8/8/2025 @ 6:45 pm. Meeker PD was called to the Fairgrounds when an intoxicated male showed up and caused a scene at the Incident Command Post. The subject was taken into custody for Possession of a Weapon While Under the Influence and Violation of a Protection Order.
