RIO HAPPENINGS:AUG 31-SEPT. 6, 2025

ARRESTS

9/1/2025– A 41 year-old female was arrested by Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office for Domestic Violence and Second Degree Criminal Tampering. She was taken to jail.

9/4/2025– A 39 year-old male was arrested by Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant for Contempt of Court. He was transported to jail where he remains in custody.

9/6/2025– A 62 year-old male was arrested by Meeker PD for Driving Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs/or Both, Failed to Drive in a Single Lane (Weaving) and Failed to present Evidence of Insurance Upon Request. He was transported to jail. He was released on 9/8/2025 on a PR bond.

9/8/2025- A 29 year-old male was arrested by Rangely PD for Violation of a Protection Order and Domestic Violence. He was transported to jail where he remains in custody

CALL SUMMARIES

9/1/2025 @ 12:22 am. A suspect in a domestic rolled her truck on County Road 4 shortly after the reported incident and was subsequently transported to the hospital. The following night, the suspect reported that her camper had been ransacked while she had been at the hospital. Upon further investigation, the female was arrested for Domestic Violence and Second- Degree Criminal Tampering. The arrest was made after further investigation showed the suspect had written on her ex-boyfriend’s camper with blood.

9/1/2025 @ 7:47 am.  A bow hunter confused archery season with “Pirates of the Wilderness.” A camper deployed as a roadblock, pistol drawn and zero deer harmed in the making of this tantrum. The suspect was taken into custody without incident for pointing his handgun at two other hunters. He believed their bird hunting was interrupting his archery hunt.

9/4/2025 @ 6:04 pm.  A suspicious incident in the area of 8th & Market St. involving two adult males pushing a shopping cart and looking like they were going to fight was reported by a passerby. Upon arrival, the officer determined the men were just “fooling around.” The hooligans were advised to return the cart to the store.

9/6/2025 @ 10:22 pm.  A traffic complaint regarding a possible intoxicated driver starting in the town limits of Meeker ended in a DUI arrest when a deputy located the vehicle near the 32 mile-marker on Highway 13. He was taken into custody for DUI and taken to jail.
