8/2/2025- Meeker PD arrested a 34 year-old male for Driving Under the Influence. He was issued a summons and released to a sober party.
8/4/2025-Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 71 year-old male for Driving Under the Influence. He was issued a summons and released to a sober party.
CALL SUMMARIES
7/29/2025 @ 4:01 am. A vehicle missed the turn from County Road 8 onto Highway 13 and went through a fence. The single occupant was not injured. Meeker PD is investigating the accident.
7/31/2025 @ 12:05 pm. A two car accident at Highway 13 & Highway 64 resulted in several injured occupants. All injured parties were transported to the hospital. Colorado State Patrol is investigating the accident.
8/1/2025 @ 5:46 pm. A pickup pulling a horse trailer crashed into an irrigation ditch at Highway 64 & County Road 7. There was one horse in the trailer that was not injured. The driver was transported to the hospital.
8/2/2025 @ 12:36 pm. Black smoke was reported near the 11 mile-marker on County Road 8. Meeker Volunteer Fire Dept. responded. This has been named the Elk Fire and is still active as of 8/5/2025.
8/2/2025 @ 4:54 pm. A fire was reported on the top of County Road 3. BLM Fire responded. This has been named the Lee Fire and is still active as of 8/5/2025.
8/2/2025 @ 9:31 pm. The Sheriff’s Office assisted Rangely PD for a male party that was reportedly laying on the sidewalk in town limits. Turns out the male was just peacefully taking a snooze on his trek to Texas.
8/4/2025 @ 5:14 pm. A driver, clearly full of liquid courage, decided the fire closure on County Road 8 was just a suggestion and became the tour guide for the cars following him. The driver was stopped by a deputy and taken into custody for DUI.
