ARRESTS
9/15/2025- A 48 year-old male was arrested by Colorado State Patrol on several warrants and Driving Under the Influence. The male was taken to jail.
9/16/2025- A 52 year-old female was arrested by Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office Violation of a Protection Order. She was taken to jail and released on a PR bond.
9/22/2025- A 29 year-old male was arrested by Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office for Firing Woods or Prairie. He was taken to jail and bonded out on 9/23/2025.
9/22/2025-A 52 year-old male was arrested by Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office for Firing Woods or Prairie. He was taken to jail and bonded out the same day.
9/22/2025- A 38 year-old female was arrested by Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office for Firing Woods or Prairie. She was taken to jail and bonded out the same day.
CALL SUMMARIES
9/15/2025 @ 9:52 am. A concerned friend reported elk hunters that hadn’t checked in. Turns out they were fine-just too busy wrestling an elk out of the woods to wrestle with cell service.
9/15/2025 @ 3:01 pm. Colorado State Patrol arrested a male subject during a routine traffic stop on Highway 13. The driver had several warrants and was also found to be Driving Under the Influence.
9/16/2025 @ 4:48. Siri overheard “9-1-1” in a casual conversation and proceeded to actually call 9-1-1. There was no emergency just an explanation to the dispatcher.
9/17/2025 @ 5:04 pm. A male party was reported to be sitting on the side of Highway 139 with his legs crossed and shirt on top of his head. A Deputy searched the area and was unable to locate the individual.
9/18/2025 @ 11:01 am. An Apple Crash Detection notified the Communications Center of an accident that had occurred near the 43 mile-marker on Highway 13. The single occupant was not injured. Meeker Police Dept. is investigating the accident.
9/19/2025 @ 6:18 pm. A deputy was taking a traffic complaint on County Road 2 when the suspect vehicle conveniently drove by. Timing: suspiciously perfect!
9/20/2025 @ 7:12 pm. A fatal OHV crash occurred on County Road 95. Life saving procedures were administered and the single occupant was unable to be revived.
9/22/2023- Five individuals were arrested on warrants for starting the fire near Yellow Jacket. On Aug. 15, 2025, Rio Blanco County deputies responded to a wildfire in the Yellow Jacket area Northeast of Meeker. Rio Blanco County Deputies found evidence indicating the fire was likely human-caused. An in-depth multi-agency investigation was launched, including personnel from the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office.
9/10/2025 @ 2:57 pm. A two car accident occurred at 7th & Water St in Meeker. One occupant was transported to the hospital.
There were several reports of mud, debris and rocks on roadways due to the rain.
