The RJHS football team defeated the Hayden Tigers 30-20 Saturday in Rangely. Eighth graders Gage Fielder and Xavier Preciado led the way on both sides of the ball for the Panthers.
Fielder rushed for two touchdowns in the first half, helping the Panthers to a 14-6 lead at the half. Eighth-grade quarterback Clay Allred connected with Preciado twice in the second half to push the lead to 30-6. Defensively Fielder and Preciado combined for three interceptions. Kolby Olsen and Braden Lucas each contributed several tackles for loss on defense. The Panthers will complete the season series with the Tigers Saturday in Hayden.
