The Rangely junior high football team defeated the Meeker Cowboys 30-0 in Rangely on Thursday. The game started fast as seventh-grader Gage Fielder ran the opening kick off back for a touchdown. The ensuing Cowboy drive stalled and the Panthers took over around midfield. Jaxon Torsell capped off a solid offensive drive with his fourth touchdown of the season.
Leading 14-0 at the half the Panthers continued to play solid defense lead by Koby Chism. On their first possession of the second half Jaxon Torsell took a handoff to the right and carried 60 yards to end zone. His second of the game and fifth of the season. The Panthers sealed the game with a Chism touchdown midway through the fourth quarter. Defensively Dalton LeBleu got his third interception of the season. Brode Low played well at linebacker. The young defensive line played well limiting Meeker’s inside run game. The Panthers will travel to Hayden on Saturday, Sept. 7 to take on the Hayden Tigers.
Paybacks are sweet ????
It’s too bad they had to put their 8th graders in to beat our 7th graders. Not a fair game whatsoever. However our boys learned a valuable lesson and lost with pride.
