Four Meeker middle school football players — Gael Rodriguez, Thomas Theos, Matteus Rhykus and Lucas Simpson — have been selected to compete in the Colorado Youth Football Invitational on March 22 at the University of Colorado Boulder. The statewide showcase highlights some of Colorado’s top up-and-coming youth football talent. Rykhus will play quarterback and Simpson running back for one of the two seventh-grade teams, while Rodriguez (running back/safety) and Theos (running back/defensive end) will compete on one of the two eighth-grade teams. Games will be streamed live on the Colorado Youth Football Invitational YouTube channel, and tickets are available for those wishing to attend in person.
