Eva Scritchfield and Wagner Brown competed in barrels last weekend in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Both girls are part of Meeker’s high school rodeo program. According to Trina Zagar Brown, they had good runs and are getting faster with each competition.
It was the last high school fall rodeo for anyone competing in Wyoming. Colorado is still going but only has a few more. Wagner Brown had two clean runs and dropped time. Eva Scritchfield wasn’t feeling well and didn’t run her best. Billy Goedert stepped in as the girls’ coach for the weekend. “We had some challenges but a wealth of information was gained,” Goedert said. “Now they are going to put it to use Saturday in Rifle. They are using a gymkhana for a practice opportunity.” The Wyoming rodeo circuit will pick back up spring 2023 to finish out the season.
