Meeker cross country competed at the Rifle Invitational on Wednesday, Oct. 12, held at the Rifle Creek Golf Course. Brighton Bair was back to racing this week and took 17th place in a time of 23:11. Wyatt Rollins was once again the first Cowboy to finish in the boys’ race, at 20:18 and 28th overall. Gage Richardson seems to favor this course and was our second to the line, 31st place at 20:31, a new personal record (PR). Aidan Tapia was only two places behind, finishing in 20:43. Gabe Smithers was Meeker’s fourth scorer, in 21:14 and 39th place. Eddie Drussell and Oliver Holmes were next, finishing 44th and 54th, in 21:43 and 22:59 respectively. Cameron Hanberg continues to improve in his freshman year, taking 62nd place, with his new PR of 24:10. The Cowboys will be at Confluence Park in Delta for the 2A regional competition on Friday, with 2A girls racing at 12:30 p.m., and the boys at 1:10 p.m. COURTESY PHOTO
