Development continues forward

Meeker Chamber elects new officers

MEEKER I Nine candidates were on the ballot for the Meeker Chamber of Commerce, with five board seats available. According to executive director Katelin Cook, more than 100 ballots were returned.

Everyone coming to the table

MEEKER I Meeker Chamber of Commerce executive director Katelin Cook continues to bring people “to the table” in an effort to build relationships and create partnerships to work on economic development in the area.

Grand opening …

Shepherd’s Office Outfitters held a grand opening of its new office supply store which offers electronics, travel, cellular services and of course office supplies at 640 Main St. in downtown Meeker.

Economics 101 …

A group of more than a dozen Meeker business “stakeholders” gathered at Kilowatt Korner for a one hour class, Economic Development 101, presented by the Meeker Chamber of Commerce and facilitated by Kari Linker from the Governor’s office of economic development for the State of Colorado.

Chamber to produce commercial

MEEKER I Meeker Chamber of Commerce executive director Katelin Cook announced that the Meeker Chamber of Commerce has contracted with CV&A Films to produce a television commercial about the national tourism potential for the White River valley and Meeker area.

Tax leakage…

Meeker High School graduate Katie Stewart presented her research, analysis and recommendation on Meeker’s sales tax leakage, which earned her a masters degree from Colorado Mesa University.
