Dear Editor: I tried to negotiate a contract with the Meeker School District which would alleviate disagreements between myself and the high school principal and which would also help the district overcome its “fiscal emergency,” but after six weeks of talks, Superintendent Matt Meyer finally rejected my proposal.

MEEKER I Meeker School District’s RE-1 (MSD) budget for fiscal year 2014-15 is available at the administration building for public review. The budget estimates $5.7 million in revenue, $5.8 million in expenses with a $150,000 deficit to be covered by reserves.

MEEKER I Come the fall of this year, Meeker School District (MSD) RE-1 will join Rifle, Rangely and at least 80 other Colorado school districts in adopting a four-day school week.
MSD joins other state districts, wants ‘negative factor’ tossed
MEEKER I The Meeker School District RE-1 (MSD) Board of Education approved a resolution March 4 calling on the Colorado General Assembly and the governor to remove the negative factor in school financing.
