Letter to the Editor: PMC growing

Dear Editor: As the president of the board of directors for Pioneers Medical Center, I want to share some of the dynamic things PMC is doing to help grow and sustain healthcare services for the community.

WREA donates $10,000 toward Piceance EMS vehicle

Local energy company White River Electric Association (WREA) recently made a $10,000 donation to the Rio Blanco Fire Protection District, which will go towards the purchase of a quick response vehicle for the Quick Response Team in the Piceance Creek area.

PMC adds services

MEEKER I “Our goal is to maximize all of our resources to provide the best healthcare at our Meeker campus,” Ken Harman, Pioneers Medical Center (PMC) CEO said. “We are excited to announce the arrival of several new and expanded services to help us accomplish our goal.”

WREA, PMC donation

A combined effort, spearheaded by White River Electric Association, with Pioneers Medical Center and the Meeker Volunteer Fire and Rescue has allowed for the purchase of 4 AED (automated external defibrillator) units for the Meeker School District.  

PMC launches women’s therapy

With a state of the art computer-driven biofeedback system, pelvic floor electrical stimulation unit and a specifically designed exercise program from a qualified physical therapist, local help is now available for issues with urinary incontinence, pelvic floor pain and problems during pregnancy and postpartum.

Foot clinic March 23 at Pines Apartments

MEEKER I Pioneers Medical Center Home Health will offer its monthly Foot Clinic Tuesday, March 23 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Pines Apartments. A registered nurse and certified nurse assistant will trim toenails, assess circulation, give skin care and check blood pressures.
