RHS wins league opener

RANGELY I In its first league match of the season, Rangely showed why it’s considered a favorite to win the Western Slope. The Lady Panthers beat De Beque in three games.

Lady Panthers start out well, but fail to advance from pool play at state RANGELY — Rangely Lady Panthers concluded their season last weekend at the state tournament. I thought the weekend went well, but not as well as I would have liked it.

Lady Panthers play under new coach

RANGELY — The Rangely High School volleyball team will open the season with a new head coach. Jimmie Mergelman, who has coached the girls basketball team the past two years, has replaced long-time coach Dave Walck, who is now the assistant principal and activities director for Grand Valley.

V’ballers take fourth at Fowler tournament
