Dear Editor: An article written by the Rio Blanco Herald Times regarding the survey the county performed stated that only 50 percent of the public was “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with the Rio Blanco County Assessor’s Office.
County valuation currently up
RBC I Rio Blanco County assessor Renae Neilson presented the commissioners with the 2012 protest valuation report at its most recent meeting and showed an increase in assessed value from 2011.

Dear Editor: The Colorado Constitution establishes a property tax exemption for senior citizens and disabled veterans. For those who qualify, 50 percent of the first $200,000 in actual value of the primary residence is exempted from property tax.
