Ritter names former DA to fill vacant post
RBC I Gov. Bill Ritter has named the former district attorney in the 9th Judicial District to the same position in the 22nd Judicial District in southwest Colorado. Mark “Mac” Myers of Mancos will replace Jim Wilson, who died in a motorcycle accident in May.

Utah man killed, one injured in wreck
RBC I One man was killed and another injured in a single-vehicle crash June 10 in rural Rio Blanco County, about 20 miles east of Rangely. The victim, Brian Dick, 22, from Vernal, Utah, was a passenger in the Chevrolet pickup.
Lightning Awareness Week to be observed
RBC I The 2010 National Lightning Safety Awareness Week is June 20-26. In Colorado, that also includes Wildfire Awareness during the Lightning Safety Week.
Historical society quarterly meeting June 27
RBC I The Rio Blanco County Historical Society will host a quarterly meeting of the membership at Kilowatt Korner Sunday June 27 at 1 p.m. The board will provide the main dish (pork loin) and drinks, members will bring side dishes and desserts.

Mabel Ann Fazzi Sept. 20, 1936~June 13, 2010 Mabel Ann Fazzi, 73, passed away June 13, 2010, at her residence in Silt. Ann was born Sept. 20, 1936, in Grand Junction, to John Rex and Mabel Bell (Dean) Robinson. She married Fred Fazzi on Jan. 15, 1957, in Las Vegas.
