Gene Tardy is getting an education. Tardy, a new deputy district attorney in the DA’s local office, is learning about his new role with the 9th Judicial District and about his new life in Rio Blanco County. And he’s doing it by listening, rather than by talking.

Rangely Legion teams wins three of four

RANGELY I The Rio Blanco Legion baseball team split with Eagle on May 29, winning the first game 6-5 and losing the second 11-8. On June 2, the combined Rangely/Meeker team swept Basalt. They won the first game 7-4 and won the second 11-5.

Shane Wilson a new vice president at FNBR

MEEKER I Shane Wilson, the son of Chuck and Sally Wilson of Meeker, has returned to the Western Slope to work at First National Bank of the Rockies. Wilson currently lives in Grand Junction and is working as vice president of special assets at FNBR’s Valley Plaza office.

Groups partner to clean up County Road 5

Natural gas operators, area contractors and county agencies will partner with numerous Rio Blanco County service organizations to conduct the fourth annual trash removal project along County Road 5 this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

RANGELY | The 4-H Makin’ Bacon Pig Club has been off to a good start this year. We started off the year with a visit to a pig farm in Craig. We have been planning fun things for the summer and deciding what we will do for our demonstrations.
