November incidents down 10.3 percent from 2008
RBC | During November 2009, the Rio Blanco County Communications Center logged 819 incidents, down from November 2008 totals of 913, which is a 10.3 percent decrease in activity. However, the number of incidents for 2009 has increased 1.8 percent year-to-date.

Census questions to be mailed in March
RBC I Like everyone else, Rio Blanco County residents are being asked to stand up and be counted in the once-every-decade U.S. Census. “They kicked off the national campaign last week, so people will start seeing more about it,” said Becky Niemi, administrative assistant for the town of Meeker.
Watson: Haiti faced crushing poverty before earthquake
J.D. “Doc” Watson has seen the extreme impoverishment of Haiti firsthand. And that was before the devastating earthquake on Jan. 12. “I see the pictures on the news … and having just been there, I can picture all of this,” said Watson, pastor of Grace Bible Church in Meeker.
Horsemen organizing White River Chapter
RBC I Local equestrians who enjoy public lands from horseback are forming a local chapter of the Back Country Horsemen of America. The White River Chapter would be the 10th in Colorado.
