Veterans Day celebrations
Veterans in Rio Blanco County were honored in Rangely and Meeker last weekend in recognition of Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11.
Pledging allegiance…
The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Meeker VFW and Women’s Auxiliary presented the VFW Pledge of Allegiance award to preschoolers. It is a certificate of good citizenship and Pledge of Allegiance award.
Veterans Day activities
In honor of our veterans
A table was set with four place-settings representing the four branches of the military to honor those no longer with us, as part of the V.F.W. Ladies’ Auxiliary POW/MIA ceremony. Many local veterans also attended an assembly at Barone Middle School after lunch.

Meeker High School junior Kaysyn Chintala played “Taps” after a Heather Burke sang the National Anthem and 21-gun salute by member of the local V.F.W. Post 5483.
