MEEKER | MHS Cowboy golf has three additional tournaments under their belts. The teams, which are chosen by a golf-off, have five members traveling the courses of western Colorado.
“We have seen good improvement from Montrose,” commented head coach Willy Theos. “I’m seeing some great shots and some good holes but we’re still having trouble putting entire rounds together.”
Black Canyon Invitational, Montrose, Aug. 14:
Peter Hanks–92, Braydon Garcia–101, John Hampton Hightower–107, Jace Mobley–110, Jake Blazon–113
Battlement Mesa Invitational, Parachute, Aug. 20:
Peter Hanks–92, John Hampton Hightower–97, Braydon Garcia–98, Ryan Sullivan–117, Jake Blazon–137. Placed 9th as a team
Rifle Creek Invitational, Rifle, Aug. 25:
“Rifle’s back nine is very tricky, steep and intimidating. The guys did their best not to let it derail their scores,” Theos said.
Ryan Phelan–93, John Hampton Hightower–98, Ryan Sullivan–100, Jake Blazon–122, Chakwah Brink–139
The Cowboys finished 11th as a team.
The Cowboys will play this Monday at the Grand Junction Bookcliff course.
