Waving Hands Review seeks submissions

RANGELY I Northwestern Colorado’s new literary and arts magazine, Waving Hands Review, is accepting submissions for its second issue.
Submissions are accepted at: http://www.cncc.edu/waving_hands/. A copy of last year’s issue is also available online. The deadline for submissions is March 1. Cash prizes are awarded in each category.
Waving Hands Review, the literature and arts magazine of Colorado Northwestern Community College, seeks to publish exemplary works by emerging and established writers and artists of northwestern Colorado. It is published annually, in the spring and welcomes submissions in the following categories:
Poetry, lyrics
Fiction
Creative nonfiction
Personal essays
Political essays, treatises, manifestos
Humorous essays, parodies
Serious or gonzo journalism, critical looks at culture.
Photography, manipulated photography, photo collages
Photographs of 2-D and 3-D artwork
Digital artwork, graphic design
Drawings, sketches, cartoons
Fragments: observations, aphorisms, errata
$50 will be awarded for the selection judged the best in each of the following four categories: 1) artwork (including photography), 2) poetry, 3) fiction and 4) nonfiction (creative non-fiction, essays, journalism).
Contributors will be notified by e-mail by March 31 if a submission has been accepted for publication.
