I am pleased to welcome our amazing students and faculty back to campus. It is such an exciting time of year. Staff and administrators have been working diligently all summer to prepare for the new year which included overseeing technology, facilities and grounds upgrades. We also welcomed State Senators Mullica, Hinrichsen and Simpson as well as State Representatives Story, Catlin and Lindsay from the Capital Development Committee who toured both Rangely and Craig locations for the purpose of assessing current and future needs to support academic programming and professional training. New student orientation was held on Friday, Aug. 18 at both locations and included barbecue picnics, lake day and other fun outdoor events. Classes will begin on Monday, Aug. 21 in person and online.
Students will see changes in their on-campus spaces at both locations. New Campus Life Coordinator Sarah Bacon looks forward to meeting all new students taking classes in Craig. She wants to hear all ideas for events, student clubs and building out the fitness/wellness space. Randi Mogul in Rangely would also like to hear from you in efforts to rename “The Den” which houses Sparty’s Brewed Awakening Coffee shop (Open to the community on Aug. 21, 2023).
Finally, thanks to the great work of Representative Julie McCluskie, Senators Janet Buckner and Perry Will and Representative Rose Pugliese, Colorado Community Colleges — including CNCC — have received funding to provide zero cost education to students pursuing coursework, certificates and degrees in early childhood education and nursing. This includes tuition, fees and course materials. If you are a current student in one of these programs or are considering enrollment, please ask one of our academic or financial aid advisors about accessing these funds.
